The Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust (B.E.S.T.) encourages, supports and increases educational opportunities for talented, economically disadvantaged African-American Students from the Baltimore metropolitan area.

B.E.S.T. recruits, interviews, and counsels qualifed African-American children interested in attending 22 local independent schools. We raise funds from corporations, foundations and individuals in the Baltimore metropolitan area. These funds are then given to our 22 Member Schools to support their financial aid budgets.

The great strength of American education is its plurality. The ability to choose an independent school education should not be determined by a family's financial situation, but by the ability and motivation of the student. B.E.S.T. provides people with limited finances freedom of choice in education.
