Parent Online Learning Center
The Parent Online Learning Center (POLC) provides an online video library and additional resources addressing relevant issues for parents as they are supporting their students on independent school campuses. The intention of the POLC is to help parents feel a deeper connection to their child’s school community and to enhance their overall experience as independent school parents.
Engagement at your child’s independent school is critical to their success and your family’s overall experience in the school community. Ways to engage with your child’s independent school, along with effective methods of communication, are explored and addressed by Monica Stewart, Diversity Coordinator, Calvert School.
As your child engages with their school community beyond academics, your support and encouragement will play a large role in their success. The Park School of Baltimore’s administrators Kaliq Simms, Director of Diversity and Multicultural Education; Traci Wright, Interim Upper School Principal; and Josh Wolf, Middle School Principal, share their perspectives and insights on this important subject.
Your college-bound student will need your support each step of the way as they go through the college process. Darryl Tiggle, Director of College Guidance at Friends School of Baltimore, outlines a road map and explains some key concepts to aid you as you support your student’s college process through each grade in the upper school.
