Summer Scholars 2014 Closing Ceremonies

July 31, 2014

Congratulations to our twenty-one Middle and Upper School students who celebrated the closing exercises of the annual B.E.S.T. Summer Scholars Program. These bright and energetic students are now prepared and confident as they enter the following schools in just a few short weeks: The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland, The Bryn Mawr School, Garrison Forest School, Gilman School, Maryvale Preparatory School, McDonogh School, St. Paul’s School, St. Paul’s School for Girls, St. Timothy’s School, and The Park School of Baltimore.

Students spent five weeks receiving enrichment in all core academic areas, having fun learning lacrosse, attending field trips and preparing for the transition to their new schools.

A huge thank you to Roland Park Country School for hosting the program, to the Summer Scholars Faculty: Ms. Dontria Cole, Ms. Jill Ewing Flynn, Mr. Fitz Hardcastle, Ms. Diane Pniewski, Ms. Wendy Torres, Mr. Ronald Carney, and Ms. Ciara Johnson, and to Ms. Elisha James, the Director of Summer Scholars.

We would also like to thank The Hippodrome Foundation and Outward Bound of the Chesapeake for hosting the two field trips, STX for gifting each summer scholar a lacrosse stick and goggles, and SunTrust Foundation and The Thomas Wilson Sanitarium for their generous leadership support the B.E.S.T. Summer Scholars Program.

Summer Scholars Students, Monica Tucker (STX), Ronald Carney (Next One Up Foundation)
