The .edu Project

The .edu Project: As educational reform continues in Baltimore, more of our city’s high school students are positioned to attend colleges and universities. Collaborative partnerships between private and public institutions are critical to the educational success of first generation children. In evaluating the needs of children in Baltimore around this issue, the Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust has launched The .edu Project. The purpose of this project is to support first generation college students and their families, as well as students who are in need of enhanced “college-going” support. A major component of the project will be mobilizing colleges and universities throughout Maryland in order to leverage the resources they can provide to offer necessary tools and information. B.E.S.T. will facilitate workshops and programs for students, parents, school faculty and college guidance professionals, to provide in-depth information and a greater network of support for children throughout Baltimore.
