Maximizing the College Counseling Experience Workshop

On Sunday, September 16th over fifty Upper School students and parents gathered at Calvert School for the first-ever “Maximizing the College Counseling Experience” event. Developed through the thoughtful feedback from B.E.S.T. alumni, their parents and our College Counseling colleagues, families spent a meaningful afternoon with Paula Dofat, Director of College and Career Success at the Baltimore Leadership for Young Women as she shared her expertise in the many different facets of the college search process. Families were empowered to “own the process” and never be afraid to ask questions along the way. She shared substantial resources and information about summer programming on college campuses for middle and upper school students, how to find scholarships, and why HBCU’s can be an incredible fit.
Thank you to Calvert School for hosting this wonderful event and a special thanks to Paula Dofat for giving families the tools and resources to leverage the partnership with their own College Counselor throughout the college search process.
