New Parent/Caregiver Welcome Dinner

June 17, 2025

Last week, we were thrilled to welcome our newest B.E.S.T. parents and caregivers for an evening of connection and community at The Bryn Mawr School, as they prepare to begin their Independent School journey at one of our 17 Member Schools this fall.

To start the evening, parents/caregivers with a student participating in Summer Scholars enjoyed an orientation led by Summer Scholars Director, LaShanda Lawrence. Summer Scholars is our 5-week program for newly enrolled rising middle and upper school students and runs June 23rd – July 24th.

We are so excited to welcome three of our Alumni back as interns this summer: Xavier B. ’24, Mykenzie C. ’24, Chase C. ’24

Families were also introduced to the full B.E.S.T. team and had the chance to learn about the year-round support and programming designed to help them thrive throughout their time in their Member School. Executive Director Jess Suriano shared the many ways B.E.S.T. creates space for families to engage, connect, and feel supported every step of the way.

A highlight of the evening was a candid and inspiring panel featuring current B.E.S.T. parents and caregivers, who spoke about their students’ experiences and how their families have become active members of their school communities.

The event closed with heartfelt reflections from Derris G., father of a rising senior, who shared their journey with B.E.S.T. over the past several years. As his daughter enters her final year of high school, he spoke about the many ways she has taken full advantage of the opportunities offered through B.E.S.T., and how the program has supported her growth and success both in and out of the classroom.

We are grateful to Sue Sadler and The Bryn Mawr School for welcoming us on campus for this meaningful event; and thank you to our panelist and we’re honored and excited to walk alongside our newest B.E.S.T. families as they begin this exciting new chapter.
