Annual B.E.S.T. Family Holiday Party

December 7, 2019

Over the weekend, 158 B.E.S.T. students and family members kicked off the Holidays with the Annual B.E.S.T. Family Holiday Party. It was an afternoon of holiday cheer at Friends School as students and their families decorated cookies, enjoyed dinner, and made even more memories with fellow B.E.S.T. families. B.E.S.T. Board President, Karlo Young, shared inspiring words about how B.E.S.T. creates an important support system for our families during their school careers and beyond. B.E.S.T. Trustee, Michael Ford, also joined in on the fun to help B.E.S.T. spread the holiday cheer!

This annual gathering provides a wonderful opportunity for us to honor our seniors who are about to embark on their final semester of high school. This year, we welcomed Ashauna L., Class of 2020 at Friends School of Baltimore, to share remarks.

Ashauna spoke about how her time spent at Friends School has opened many doors for her, and she has been able to experience opportunities that would not have otherwise been accessible to her. She thanked her friends and teachers at Friends, who have offered her tremendous amounts of support over the years. Ashauna also thanked B.E.S.T. for leading her to Art with a Heart’s Art of Leadership program and for always encouraging her to be proud of her intelligence as well as her blackness.

We can’t wait to see what awaits Ashauna and the entire B.E.S.T. Class of 2020 as they take the next steps on their paths to success! From all of us at B.E.S.T., we wish you a joyful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!
