B.E.S.T. Families Take a Tour of Howard University

June 18, 2019

With summer in full swing, 51 of our rising B.E.S.T. 9th-12th grade students and their parents attended a tour of Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Located in the Northwest quadrant of the city, Howard University is a historically black college/university (HBCU) comprised of 13 schools and colleges. Students pursue studies in more than 120 areas leading to undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. Students and parents were greeted by campus tour guides who gave them a glimpse of on-campus life. After lunch on “the yard,” Howard University guides discussed the atmosphere of Howard University and what it means to be a Howard student. They also discussed Howard’s six-year MD and DDS programs for students who are interested careers in either medical or dental fields. B.E.S.T. families spent the day touring the campus and seeing all that Howard University has to offer.

Thank you to the staff, students, and administrators who welcomed us and made our visit to campus a great experience!
