B.E.S.T. Young Alumni Luncheon

January 10, 2023

Last week, over twenty B.E.S.T. Alumni gathered to reconnect with each other and the B.E.S.T. staff for a complimentary lunch at Mt. Washington Tavern before returning to their college campuses for the spring semester. In addition to catching up with their peers, Alumni heard from B.E.S.T. Alumna and Director of Advancement, Crystal Alston, about the meaningful and impactful ways in which she maintained connection as an Alumna with both her alma mater, Garrison Forest School, and B.E.S.T. – and how those connections led to employment and Board service with both organizations. Alumni also heard from B.E.S.T. Board President, Karlo Young, who used the metaphor of compound interest to describe the ways in which the B.E.S.T. Alumni network can provide resources and connections for continued personal and professional success. Gilman and B.E.S.T. Alumnus Darrius Jennings ’11 shared his story of how he successfully navigated the transition from professional football to real estate through a chance encounter with a Gilman teacher, emphasizing the importance of relationships.

We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to connect with our outstanding Alumni and to provide a forum for strengthening the B.E.S.T. Alumni connection. B.E.S.T. of luck to our college-age Alumni as you return to your campuses later this month!
